FBK-IRVAPP ADVANCED SCHOOL 2024 Advanced Methods for Impact Evaluation (Venice)
Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti, Venezia
The school is designed to be particularly beneficial to graduate students and researchers with intermediate proficiency in applied policy evaluation and quantitative micro-econometrics. It will run over 3 days, from January 22 to January 24, 2024, covering longitudinal data methods for the estimation of policy effects. Different solutions to the identification problem will be considered in theoretical and training sessions (e.g. Difference-in-differences and Synthetic Control methods). Discussion sessions with instructors will be organized, with the possibility for students to present their research in poster sessions. Finally, the winning paper of the 2nd edition of the Best Paper in Public Policy Evaluation will be presented.
The training sessions will illustrate the implementation in Stata of a selection of approaches related to Difference-in-Differences and Synthetic Control; a temporary Stata license will be released on demand. It is recommended that you bring your own laptop to follow the training sessions.
