The Research Institute for the Evaluation of Public Policies (IRVAPP) at the Bruno Kessler Foundation (FBK) is a leader in applied research and program evaluation, conducting independent research and working closely with governments and institutions in Italy and internationally.

Visiting Research Fellows

FBK-IRVAPP warmly invites public policy researchers to take up a Visiting Research Fellowship at the Centre. Fellowships last between one and six months and are based at our office in Trento, Italy.

Who can apply
We welcome experienced researchers at academic institutions or research centres working on public policy or related fields.
What we offer

Fellows have the opportunity to participate in all of the Centre’s seminars, workshops, conferences, and events — and are invited to propose and lead sessions in their areas of expertise. Aside from their own projects, there is ample opportunity for collaboration within and outside the Centre.

FBK-IRVAPP provides Fellows with access to its technological and academic resources and comfortable desk space for the duration of the Fellowship. Logistical support is available for finding temporary or longer-term accommodation (up to two months or more), as well as assistance in obtaining a visa if needed. Some travel funding opportunities are also available — please enquire when you apply.

  • A brief outline of the research you plan to carry out during the Fellowship

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Candidates will receive feedback within a few weeks.

Please note: before starting the Fellowship, you will need to present a clearance letter from your home organisation, declaring:

  • The existence of an employment relationship, or possession of a grant or scholarship
  • Authorisation to carry out activities at FBK
  • Any reference to insurance coverage
