FBK-IRVAPP is looking for a quantitative researcher
FBK-IRVAPP is seeking a researcher who will contribute to and expand the institute’s research in the field of public policy evaluation. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of the main methodological approaches used in the quantitative analysis of public policies and programs and is motivated to conduct experimental or quasi-experimental evaluation research across different policy areas. Familiarity with regional economics, fiscal policy, and labor economics is desirable.
The selected candidates will actively participate in the design and implementation of research and evaluation activities, working closely with other team members at FBK-IRVAPP. They will be involved in developing competitive project proposals at both national and international levels and will contribute to the dissemination of research findings through policy briefs, presentations, and scientific publications. A key part of the role will also include translating research outcomes into actionable insights for policy.
The ideal candidate should have:
- PhD in Social Science (Economics, Public Policy, Political Science, Sociology, Statistics) or other fields);
- Strong background in public policy evaluation and evidence-based policy;
- Relevant publication activity in the fields of the call;
- Familiarity with regional economics, fiscal policy, taxation and labor economics.
- Experience in the management of research projects and data collection protocols;
- Demonstrated quantitative and analytical skills;
- Good knowledge of Stata and, possibly, R;
- Strong writing and oral communication skills;
- Oral and written proficiency in English and Italian. If not proficient in Italian, commitment to acquire it on the job;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to work effectively in a team, as well as independently.
- Orientation to results, determination, flexibility and aptitude for problem-solving.
Furthermore, the following elements will be positively evaluated:
- Experience in organizing academic workshops or similar events;
- Documented international research experience;
