The course is designed to be of particular benefit to Ph.D. students and researchers in the Social Sciences, Economics and Statistics, needing to undertake policy evaluation analysis using micro data. The School will present 1) the fundamental principles of impact evaluation with a specific focus on the counterfactual theory of causal inference and 2) a variety of statistical tools for counterfactual analysis (including difference-in-differences and matching methods, regression discontinuity designs and quasi experimental settings).

A post-doc position is available at Institute for the Evaluation of Labour Policies (FBK- IRVAPP), in the field of Evaluation of Labour Policies, and a junior researcher position is available in the field of the Evaluation of Public Policies.

Erich Battistin has been appointed as Research Fellow for the Labour Economics Programme at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR).

Loris Vergolini (FBK-IRVAPP) will present the paper "The Minimum Guaranteed Income in the Province of Trento: Evidence from an Impact Evaluation", written together with Antonio Schizzerotto (Università degli Studi di Trento and FBK-IRVAPP) and Nadir Zanini (University of Cambridge). 

Loris Vergolini (FBK-IRVAPP) will present the paper "The Bologna process in Italy. A reassessment of its influences on university enrollments and inequalities of educational opportunities", written together with Antonio Schizzerotto (Università degli Studi di Trento and FBK-IRVAPP). Here the program of the conference.
